ahah, nicely put. But you must agree that the guy was in charge of the prototype and his only job was to use the phone WITHOUT losing it. It just shouldn’t have happened. Big mistakes result in big consequences, that’s a fact.
Poor guy. I really hope they didn’t put him in a cage with steve after this :[
edit: also @brad. I have a suggestion for your new site. It would be really helpful if you had a shortened url auto-generate for each web-comic page for easier sharing on twitter/facebook (for instance, is.gd link shortener). I saw a tutorial/article on how to have wordpress do this automatically using the functions.php file, I could try to find it for you if you’re interested…or you could try one of the many sharing plugins available. ——-
To those suggesting this was a planned ad trick by Apple: get a clue. As if they’d need to resort to “viral” campaigns to create buzz about their products. Apple wouldn’t leave a new device in the wild for someone to find, in hopes it would make its way to a rag like Gizmodo. This was human error, that Gizmodo is profiting off of, not some amateurish advertising campaign designed to build up buzz for a new iPhone.
And Brad, could you please fix that top nav links background hover images. Hover image doesn’t mach to the sites background at all.
This has bugd me a long time.. ^^
@Steven
I totally agree. This was a planned ad trick and it worked like a dream. And what is best? The buzz around this new phone cost Apple only the price of that prototype :D
Fantastic as always. They are trying to take advantage of this young boy. That is not good. One should not play with some one’s career. I hate these kind of people and happenings. May be I am little hear in real life, you can say. Other things are fine with it. Anyway overall a nice presentation. The cartoons, the picturesqueness, color combination and the topic you chose all are amazing. Keep giving us different new stuffs.

April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pmGetting media attention is one thing. Demolishing a young persons career is another whole new level.

April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pmThat guy will never loose his job. That was all made up so apple is in the news. And guess what, it worked!

April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pmYep, you’ve got it. The sad thing is, Gizmodo actually things publishing the story saved the guy his job - http://twitter.com/jlawr3nc3/status/12491536998

April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pmSo true. The way Gizmodo handled this was wrong. I feel for Gray Powell. It was an honest mistake that anyone could have made.

April 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm@Janne, thanks and I’m working on a big update, there are a lot of little things on the site that bug me too and those buttons are one of them.

July 27, 2011 at 10:55 amThis joke is reality for a lot of “companies”. They don’t have ideas but they have just a lot of consultants without any valuable ideas.

August 29, 2011 at 12:31 pmAs the above poster said, this joke is certainly a reality for so many companies who pay consultants 6 figure salaries for no reason!
